Our regional newspaper (regional, just because I’m 75 miles away and don’t get our local paper), the Spokesman Review, is printing a bunch of articles about the 30th anniversary of Mount St. Helens erupting. I was about a year away from being born when it happened, so I don’t remember any of it. A crap ton of ash fell on the farm and my dad has a bunch of baby jars of ash (my sister was almost a year old when it happened). Anyway, today’s article was a reader memory of training for the CDA Marathon and the race being canceled because of ash.
My friend Ashley (of Bloomsday fame!) and I are going to run the CDA half-marathon at the end of the month - her first half-marathon ever; I think I am much more excited about it than she is. :)
